Our Lead Digital Product Designer will be crafting world-class, extremely useful, and purpose-driven digital experiences for our customers.
This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to shape products from inception and drive it through to market launch built on an AI/ML enabled cloud platform. You will be pivotal in our success as a company, driving change that makes a real difference in the engineering world. We need our Lead Digital Product Designer to bring a deep understanding of people, interactions and an expert application of the digital design craft. Bonus points if you’ve got a track record of driving behavioural change, working in SaaS, another startup, AI enabled products or engineering/utilities sector. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

In this role, you will be responsible for:
- GIS Software Engineering and Administration- Revise, develop, and deploy map layers and GIS features available to the public to support national information and program application web services that improves GIS accuracy, applicant understanding, and product/s success

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO BE INVOLVED IN AS A GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER PRODUCT DESIGNER ?
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) – Provide geotechnical subject matter expertise to help in the geotechnical and natural hazards software product design process, assisting in:
- Defining business requirements;
- Developing and recommending technical approaches to meet them; and
- Providing the information to software developers on what needs to be built
- Being a typical user of geotechnical and natural hazards type software who understands what the products are supposed and expected to do
- Design Specification – Generate design specifications which typically involve translating business needs into detailed algorithms
- Development and Testing – Overseeing the development, testing and deployment of technical solutions and validating that the products meet the requirements
- Works closely with the product designer to assist with the visual/tactile aspects of a product,
- Communication – Be a technical leader, helping to bring our internal vision to reality. Be comfortable owning communication with our stakeholders and vendor colleagues
- Helps in the development of user manuals and documentation
- Preparation of tutorial examples
- May help provide technical customer support
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
- 2 to 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
- Familiar with a wide variety of geotechnical engineering software applications
- Strong data and analytics skills and a flare for presentation
- Python coding experience beneficial
- User of GIS tools is beneficial
- Familiarity in software development, deployment, and implementation beneficial
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks with limited resources
- A technical mindset with great attention to detail
